Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the 2025 Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The trio have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a unprecedented innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.

The event will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being nominated for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and surged to prominence with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
