The President Invites Families of Injured Guard Personnel to the White House

President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has asked the family of a Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the executive mansion.

He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Event

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their honor.

Presidential Call

The president explained he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president addressed the press. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Community Response

Attendees gathered over the weekend at a local school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to support law enforcement in the capital.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that instructors hoped for. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the principal of her alma mater, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always ready to assist people.”

Funeral plans for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Judicial Measures and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old suspect with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The incident caused the administration to halt asylum applications and cease granting visas to holders of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, per the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey mentioned on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on Fox News Sunday that she planned to visit Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had courage,” the governor told the audience at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
